Any Dream Will Do
A year and a half into Ben's three year scholarship at Italia Conti he decided to try his luck and audition for the new BBC show "Any Dream Will Do" in which Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber was looking for a new leading man to play the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor(R) Dreamcoat.
Ben was extremely successful in this process and made it to the final twelve boys who would battle it out every week live on BBC 1 every Saturday night. On the judging panel was Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber along with John Barrowman, Denise Van Outen, Bill Kenwright and Zoe Tyler. Whilst on the programme Ben received comments such as,
"Hot to Trot!" DENISE
"A phoenomenal entertainer!" BILL
"An absolute star" JOHN
"Star Quality" ZOE
Ben finished in fourth place, reaching the semi-final stages. After this he went straight into Hairspray in October 2007.
